Our Programs & Services
READY! for Kindergarten
READY! for Kindergarten® helps close the achievement gap by engaging parents and caregivers in a child’s early learning. Once available, our READY! for Kindergarten workshops will be free to families of children birth to age 5 in Glynn County Schools offering READY!.
Parents or caregivers attend a series of three READY! for Kindergarten workshops, each year, based on their child’s age. Participants learn how to nurture a child’s early language and literacy, math and reasoning, and social and emotional development skills using READY!’s Play With a Purpose approach. At each workshop, attendees explore fun activities and receive new materials and take-home tools.
If you are a school district representative in Glynn County and interested in providing READY! for Kindergarten, please contact us.
READ Up: Stop the Summer Slide
School-age children can lose up to three months of reading skills in just one summer. It’s called the summer slide and begins the first week students are out of school.
The READ Up: Stop the Summer Slide℠ program helps keep reading a part of daily summer routines with free books and fun events. READ Up events are for children from birth to age 8 and their parents or caregivers.
We partner with other local organizations to help deliver READ Up events. Check back each May for our schedule of READ Up events. If you are interested in sponsoring or helping with an event, contact us today!
Educating Our Community
All our programs and services aim to educate parents about their vital role as a child’s first and most influential teachers. But families aren’t alone. Schools and communities also have an important role to play to help increase children’s reading and other school readiness skills. We offer talks and information about our work, why we focus on a child's birth to age 5 years to provide quality learning opportunities, and how you can help.
If you are interested in having someone present to your organization or service club, please email our office.
